Hi. Some of my baby verbascum plants have floppy leaves,(they were seed sown in Feb) I waterered them but they are still floppy, I tried leaving them dry but no change, why do some leaves go like this? Has anyone else found this problem. The middle of the plant seems ok.Should I cut these leaves off and hope the rest grow ok?

If thats the case then that's great, it's only that some of the oldest ones are REALLY floppy and the others are nice and stiff. But hope this IS Normal. The picture doesn't look like they are as floppy as mine!

I have some Verbascum Phoenecian hybrids. They are different from that in the photo. They are so floppy the leaves lie flat on the ground. Mine were sown last year and the flower spike is emerging from the middle of these floppy leaves.

They might. I think some of the smaller Verbascums, like the ones i sowed, might flower first year if sown early.
