    Hi folks,

Has anyone managed to get Verve seed compost from their local B&Q yet? It's the one in the 20l bag. It's been out of stock in all B&Q's near me for what seems like ages.

Also can someone recommend a good seed compost as an alternative. I'm itching to get started now! :hapydancsmil:

If just for seeds, and not MPC for also growing on a bit further, I always use Westland seed and cutting compost, £3 for 20 litres from Wilko, or might still be £1.99 for 30L from Wickes plus 4 for 3 offer.

I'll add the links in a few minutes.

Gro Sure Seed Compost 30 ltre bags £1 @ Wickes

Not sure if I had 2 bags from a bad batch last year but that Westland seed and cutting compost was rather twiggy and bitty for me last year.

Not bought any seed compost in yet so would like to try an alternative this year

Never used seed compost, to me its all part of the racket, and I dont mean tennis:biggrin:

MPC has always been OK as far as I'm concerned for seed sowing, if it is a bit lumpy just riddle it, but for most seed I find it OK.
Sometimes the addition of 50% sharp sand can be good, but only for difficult stuff.
