Met Office site shows Sat, but the 6°C temp shown is actually early Sun morning.

6°C in the nearest town means about 4°C at my edge of village plot, possibly down to 3°C over polythene mulch.

Thanks for the headsup! I'll make sure I've got my extra blanket laid across the bed for a speedy pull up. Don't really have any plants to worry about at this point so I'll think of my feet instead

Forecast now lowered by one degree to 5°C in the nearest town, so I'll be picking all my outdoor toms on Sat and also covering up my New Guinea Impatiens I intend taking overwintering cuttings from, and throwing some blankets over the runner beans I'm saving seeds from.

Anybody else getting a potential frost early Sun morning?

A low of 10 forecast for tonight, so not an issue here yet.

It's 2.3°C in my garden (and still dropping!).

The Met Office revised the forecasts downwards last night, there might have been a lot of plants lost this morning. I didn't see anybody else covering up their tender stuff. It's probably around 1°C at my edge of village plot right now. If they'd forecast those sort of temps yesterday I would have put a paraffin heater in my polytunnel full of tomatoes

I didn't leave a thermometer at the plot, but the heavy white frost over everything told me all I needed to know

                          chilly.jpg

There was even ice on top of black polythene

                          chilly2.jpg

That's probably the end of the local blackberries, I'd only picked 416lbs and have been relying on them for our deserts every day.
