very few courgettes?

i have lots of flowers on my courgette plants, but very few turn into courgettes :( :cnfs:

This is the first year I am having this same problem. I think I have allowed too many male flowers. The long thin stemmed ones that is. I'll try cutting a few more out and see if that does the trick.

Snap!! Same here too unfortunately, but then I am always a little late being up here in the north.
