I'll start now before I go away and come back after my return, but I just found this sorting stuff as I'm trying to go away.

It's a drawing I did on Windows Paint 3.1 many, many years ago, my one and only attempt! Sorry, the paper is crinkled!

It's of Magic Sam sitting by the sea in Portugal, where he hadn't been before! Spooky!

I lived on the Thames at Henley one winter (from September 1979 for about 7 months) Just my 16 year old son and I as I was a chef running a bistro in central Henley and he was a waiter at the Red Lion. We also had seven cats. It was absolutely idyllic as the kitchen sink was looking straight onto the river and all the different ducks and swans would come to the window for scraps while the cats sat on the side of the boat and watched them! At night (about 2.30 am) when I came home from work in the snow and rain they would all come to ask for scraps. You get to realise that they don't actually go to sleep during the night. However, to get back to cats by the water - I heard a passerby saying to their companion one morning "do you want to see a cat swim?" and flew on deck thinking all the worst to see my cats jumping in of their own accord and scrambling out again to the delight of one and all spectators! Of course I didn't have a camera - I could have made a mint with the local paper if I'd had a photo.

I meant to congratulate you, lol, on the picture as it captures the feeling so well and I now have a copy above this PC so that I can show it to visitors!
    Thanks!

What can I say, eleagnus7, except that I feel very honoured and humble. Thank you for such a compliment! Muitas obrigandinhas, meu amigo!

Here is the original painting I started in the late 70s / early 80s ... still not finished because I don't like the sea ... which gave me the vision to do the computer sketch ...

    An Algarve Cove

... and here are a few more I've done ...

My first acrylic painting, which is the medium I use, of an Arizona Sunset. I painted this for t'other half when he had to spend a night in hospital in 1974 (cost us a fortune for the frame then!) ...

    ... this one isn't t'other half's favourite of The Grand Canyon ...

... one I particularly do like of Mount Fuji, Japan ...

... and one I'm not sure if I like or not, keep dithering about it, A Village in the Snow ...

Nothing special, but just another crafty thing I did. It's a quilted Egyptian wall hanging, first and only attempt, and we have it over our headboard as our bedroom "theme" is Egyptian.

Thanks, Windy. I should have said it's Mount Fuji in the Mist. I love the colours so now I have them here I'll perhaps see about a nice simple frame for it.

Thank you, wildflower, but I have to be honest and admit it's not as intricate as it looks! I haven't done the figures individually! Slap hands! Ouch!

Here's my wall art here on our Baffio (dining area). As we live in the middle of the orchards, I wanted to see the sea (only 20 minutes away but I can't physically see it) so I created my own scenario. This is painted on the side of our "shed" which are brick here. I rendered the wall first and t'other half put up the fake arch stones for me to work within. I guess it's about 2 metres square.

Terrific! I love the Grand Canyon one - you have captured the shadows, depth and harsh heat so well
