    I've just accidentally dug up a violet ground beetle - first one I've come across and they're gorgeous! Just have to find him a cosy new home now I've destroyed the old one...

    And very useful creatures they are too, snails beware!

    Not surprised by the looks of them! No wonder he moved in, I've hundreds of slugs and snails this year
