For the last two days I've been unable to connect to Virgin Mail.
Just managed to get through to them on the phone and they say its my PC that is causing the problem as they can access it at their end.

Thing is I have no problems with any other sites, and can get Virgin home page.
Its when I click on e mail, I get a page saying , loading, and after that just a blank screen.
Sometimes I get a virgin screen saying this page has been moved or you are following a broken link.
Been like this for two days now.

The very helpful bloke on the phone gave me the number of a helpline that wants my cash.

I still think its a problem their end, as I've done nothing and can get other virgin pages, just not my e mails.

    Any ideas?

Yes. change to some another supplier.

Virgin broadband used to be NTL or as it was also known NT Hell

Just because they can access something at their end doesn't mean to say the problem is at your end. Since you have changed nothing at your end there is nothing you can do other than phone them back again.

Its at their end. If you are following a link on their website, and the page at the end of that link never loads, that means its their fault.

It is possible that your firewall is blocking that particular page, but that is almost infinitely unlikely if you can access other parts of their site.

I'd ring them back, and tell them you wish to give notice to cancel your whole account. They will then put you to a much more helpful team who are trained to retain your custom, and they will pay much more attention to you rather than simply following the script.

Dave W, reading pete's post he is accessing his email via a web page as opposed to using an email client.

While you're at it you might as well ask them for a discount. My Hubby does it all the time with them and gets money knocked off their extortionate prices. Just threaten a switch to sky and say how much cheaper they are etc......

Well I have used Telewest / Virgin cable for 12 years now with virtually no problems. The Webmail can be a bit cranky though , you should have Outlook Express lurking on your PC somewhere this will be for more reliable.
Like catztail I also moan at Virgin every 12 months to get the prices / package better :blue thumb:

Just done a few bits, and noticed I can get my mail through internet explorer, its slow though, so I think the problem might lie with firefox, which I have been using for the last couple of years.
I dont normally have much trouble with Virgin other than trying to contact them:wallbanging:

You would be much better off using an e-mail client outlook express, windows live mail depending on you op system and use POP3 e-mail
            Many others available

After a bit of hassle I think I've cracked it.
I deleted all Virgin Media cookies, shut down fire fox then restarted.

I think its sorted it out, but time will tell.
