A couple of us are intending to visit Branklyn Garden in the spring, when it will be open again. It's a National Trust for Scotland garden, just a small one, specialising in alpine plants and rhodies, and azaleas, but with lots more.

This is the link to the site, but the garden is closed for the winter, so what you can see is limited. They do have a seed-list, where you can either swap or buy what they have. I can recommend the sorbus reducta!

We haven't fixed a date yet, and are pretty flexible, so if anyone else would like to join us, can you pm me? All arrangements will be made that way, rather than on open forum, as that seems a more secure way of doing it.

It would be nice for some of us who are less likely to make it down to Chelsea, etc, to be able to meet up somewhere nice up here, with or without badges

We thought it would be a good idea to include a partner or friend, or even join up to travel together, depending on where people live.

Well there are 4 going now - any other takers? We're thinking of April, maybe the week or two ofter Easter, probably on a weekday.

I think opening hours are approx 10-4.

I've just confirmed that the garden is open from 31st March to 31st October, from 10-5. We'll be going soon after the kids go back to school, so if anyone else wants to join the little group going, do drop me a pm or e-mail. :D

Yes sorry you couldn't make it Scotkat, Dendrobium explained about your forced change of plans. We'll just have to do it again in 2008!
