        Great pics Nigel :)

        During the early 2000's I went down there every year for five years and I went to try the zoo three times. It's a brilliant place and so much more than just a zoo, it has one of the top conservation set ups in the World.

        If you're still down there, you should go their other place in Torquay ( on the side of the harbour ) which is specially for birds.

          @Anthony Rogers
          I actually live down here and have followed the development of the Zoo since the late 90.
          My garden actually backs onto the Zoo's conservation area, so I get to hear the lions and the gibbons among other things from my garden especially on sunny mornings.
          The other site (Living Coasts) is a lot interesting to me. The Zoo is also a botanic garden and holds a national collection of Buddleja, so the planting is more interesting than in many zoos and also many plants are labelled.

            Thank you for sharing your day our with us Nigel and the photos are smashing!

            Thing is, the photo which gave me the biggest "aww" moment was ...

            ... our humble robin posing for you on the fence: "Look at me! Aren't I handsome!" :heehee:
