    Hi Folks!
Thought I'd share one of my summer successes with you all. I play tenor sax in the HMS Seahawk Volunteer Band based at RNAS Culdrose here in Cornwall.

Every year all the Volunteer Bands get together and have a weekend of competition - marching display and concert performance. There are about 10 bands from Scotland to Gibraltar and a couple of aircraft carriers too. We've done rather well over the past couple of years so went to Portsmouth in July defending 4 trophies - best marching band, best drum major (guy out the front with the mace), best fleet air arm band (that's only really between us and Yeovilton) and 2nd overall.

Here we are on the march - I'm in the middle behind the trombone slide!

We won all 4 trophies again and also came 2nd in the concert band section! There are only 8 trophies and we came away with 5! Any one got a silver cloth!!

    Thankyou both!

We will be playing down your end of the county in October, Linda. We march at Madron for Trafalgar day. This is us a couple of years ago...

Well done Sarah, you must have some serious puff to play tenor sax. My daughter used to be in the scouts marching band, she plays a glockenspiel. Your uniforms are very smart I must say

You are a clever girl Sarah and you get to play with all those sailors too - I am green [IMG]

It was always my dream to be part of an orchestra but all I can play are card games - well done you !!
