    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had an answer to this little problem.

W10 upgraded our Desktop and all ok, little difference.

However our old Toshiba laptop, which on previous W10 version Started up quiet quickly, say under 30 seconds, after V1909 it now takes about 90 seconds, with just the blue windows logo being displayed during this time.
It also seems to take about 3 times longer to close down as well.

The rest seems ok, but wondered why this big difference in start up times ?

It probably the update whats done it , after the last update my PC suddenly restarts with a window problem, I did google it to find the problem and quite a few mentioned stop doing updates .

On the new update they may of changed something which needs more processing power or more RAM required that could be one of the reasons why its slowed down.

Have you checked to see if there are any more up dates? Quite often there are further up dates that follow on from the original.

There is a serious security flaw that Microsoft was told to fix fast. Probably a patch that is hot dogged and cheap as far as programming time.

              Hi,

Well it did do an update last night and it now seems to boot in 55 seconds, so seems the update has had some effect.

Its got 4gb of ram, though do not think I want to get into all the detail of that Bleeping Computer thread, would be totally lost with all that !

Would use Linux, but have to keep to Windows as some key programs I must use are Windows only.
( been playing with the Rasp Pi which is helping to teach me a lot more about the basics of Linux )

Might try restoring my pre v1909 backup and stay on v1903 as seems 1909 does not offer anything special ..?

              Thanks All.
