I found these wall baskets in poundland and just couldn't resist. After getting the other half to put them up, I now realise I have no idea at all what to put in them! Can anyone make any suggestions?

There are 3 on a south east facing wall and 1 on a south facing wall if that makes any difference?

I've never done a hanging basket before, Im totally clueless!

:hapydancsmil: I love those hanging baskets & what a bargain :dbgrtmb:

Personally I'd put summer bedding plants in those :blue thumb: maybe some lobelia, trailing petunias, fushia's. Wait until the risk of frost has passed & then you can get planting :dbgrtmb:. Some DIY shops, supermarkets & garden centres sell packs for hanging baskets, they would be perfect for your baskets . I can't wait to see them planted up for the summer :dbgrtmb: maybe next year you could plant some dwarf narcissi & winter pansies in them :hapydancsmil:

Trailing tomatoes / salad crops / summer long fruiting strawberries ? Just add water crystals to whatever you decide to plant so you dont end up watering them over and over again.......

Its a long time off planting a summer display Kyre Cookie . The time to plant up a basket outside is early May . Beckies suggestions above will be perfect . The garden centres and supermarkets will be full of these in late April.
As Wee Tam said use water crystals and slow release feed ( the little pellets you can buy )and a good multi purpose compost.
If you want to plant something now , buy two trays of Pansies. These will flower like billy-o until you are ready to plant your summer flowers .:blue thumb:
PS Don't forget Violas , just bought two trays today . Not grown them for a while.
