I grew some wallflowers from seed in my polytunnel back end of last year, but I neglected to plant them out in beds due to other responsibilities.

Would it be too late now to plant them out considering we are in a warmish spell, I can protect them also if need be. These plants are approx 12 inches tall or more.

    Many thanks.

    Steve...:)

Yes esp if you can protect them overnight for a few nights. Wallflowers are very tough plants but they will have been cosseted in polytunnel so sensible to protect them :)

Assuming they've been sown fairly close together, they might be easier to protect overnight for a few days if dug up in clumps and kept in some plastic supermarket crates/veggie crates prior to planting out in their final positions.

Incidentally, I grow wallflowers as specimen plants...... 70 to 100 cm tall bushy plants and now flowering. Easy to do from a spring sowing :)

        Got any pics?

They'd be very different from the Persian Carpet? I used to grow and plant out for my Mother for many years after she became incapable of shopping for them, calling them 'weasels' after her stroke, which was was a bit of a shock the first time I heard it when she asked me to remove 2 bin bags of dead weasels from her front garden.
