    HI WE HAVE A LARGE WALL NUT TREE WITH LOTS OF NUTS SHOWING WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM AND WHEN PLEASE THANKS BOB :D

    Hi Bob,
    You lucky thing you,wish I had one. The old method of harvesting was to use a suitable stick and whack the branches knocking the nuts off,I think it was to create small breaks in the bark to encourage next years buds.
    Grandad used to chant as he was doing so.....
    "A woman,a dog,a walnut tree,the harder you beat 'em the better they be". :D :D
    NOT my way of thinking of course... :rolleyes:
    Pickle 'em,they are damn good.
    Wear gloves when you take them out of the husks or you will get purple hands.

    Sorry,forgot to add that for pickling you need to harvest when the nuts are soft,early to midsummer.
    Main crop when the husks have turned from green to black.
