Oh Walnut ,.... your jungle of Bruggies is to die for and I just love the topiary bird ... is it a Flamingo? xx

I do wish my Bruggie was as healthy looking as yours. Are they all new this year from cuttings? I now have the Brug, the Cestrum and the Ioantha in the ground under the Jacaranda but they all seem to be having a rest at the moment .... as our temps have already been in the high 30s, guess they are preparing themselves for the summer ahead.

I also see you got a shade sail ... did you get it off e-Bay? T'other half got ours from there for about £18 (plus about the same in postage to here) but we wouldn't be without it .... and they withstand our high gusty winds!

Thanks for letting us into your Oasis. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments,Shiney it is a job moving stuff about especially early in the year when frosts are off and on but I thrive on excercise so don't mind,Claire,Shobhna don't be disappointed it takes time a garden is never finished and is constantly evolving the fun is doing it the way you like it.
My dear Lady you have got me stumped with the topiary bird didn't know I had one (where is it hiding?)did you notice the two cestrum elegans they are getting quite big I have cuttings of cuttings and they are on their second flowering this year the cestrum newelii is in the ground and doing well I will be overwintering them outside this year but have cuttings as backup:thumb:Some of the brugs are cuttings some seeds grown through the winter thats why I had some flowering in April, you are doing the right thing keeping them in some shade that's why I have the shade sail even our sun can be too strong (when it comes out that is ) I did get it off e-bay but of course the postage was cheaper and as you say they ride the wind well.

Inside the polytunnel this years seedlings in the foreground flowering cuttings further back, notice the foliage is perfect easier to keep the pests and the ravages of the weather away,

Beautiful garden, Walnut. You have so many things in it that I don't know where to start looking!

What is the plant next to the pond with the oval-shaped leaves and the tall stem with pinkish flowers on it? Can it be left outside in the winter?

In the next pic with the close-up of the fish, is that an Eucomis? Mine started showing their flowerheads a few days ago.

In the last 2 pics, are the plants with the scalloped leaves Bruggies too? I thought that only the wild sort had leaves like that.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden, Walnut. You do all the work and we just look :thumb:
