Hi, I want to plant a couple of fast growing tree's next to my shed so I don't want the roots to damage the shed itself, I prefer ones with colourful flowers if possible, what are my options?

Fruit trees? I guess if you keep the branches away from the shed the roots will be OK.

Here's a flowering cherry from Holland Gardens:

A bit more unusual, but colourful and fairly fast growing is a Freemontedendron. They classify it as a shrub but if you stop it from branching out low down it will grow in the form of a tree. You could even train it on wires along the side of the shed.

It starts to flower in April and continues all through May and June. Then produces occasional flowers through till late September.

One word of warning - it has very slight burrs on the flower pods that can be a nuisance if you have very young kids.
