    I have my first outdoor rose; Peace. What?... where did those aphids come from? Attaaaack! Take no prisoners! I'm squirting with soapy water, picking them off by hand... anything else I can do without nasty chemicals?

    I just rub my hands over them and squish them if there's only a few. If there are more, I spray with water/washing up liquid.

    if you go to the rose section there is a sticky for care advice without using chemicals. i have tried soapy water but the infestation is so bad ive baught some rose clear which is insectiside and fungicide. but i will spray in eve when my lovely bees go to bed :)
