    Hi Everyone,

I must admit this is the first gardening forum I've ever signed up to! so please be gentle with me :)

Last year I bought a Cayanne chili starter pot from my local pound shop..... within weeks it grew from from seed to a baby chili plant (not sure of the technical term).

It grew, and grew and grew... I originally expected it to grow about 2ft, however, it managed to get to just over 3ft high and 3 ft wide! I managed to harvest around 60 chilis! it was fantastic - I then became a chili addict!

Things had to change though, the wife wasn't happy with it in the conservatory - and my brother in law intervened(probably egged on by my wife) and he mentioned that he had seen these small grow houses for £20 - they were tall walk in ones with shelves either side and about 3 ft deep. So I bought one! I was especially pleased as I have since seen these in my local garden center for £47!

Anyhow, once I got the growhouse set up - I needed to fill it with things. I grew more chilis, various herbs. It all worked out quite well.

Well, this year the grow house looks a bit battered - it has poly tunnel tape all over it where it needed fixing as the weather had damaged it, and it generally looks a little sad for itself. I am determined to get another year out of it though. I have a really small garden that I am under instruction from the wife that I an not turn into a veg patch - after all I have my growhouse now! :wallbang: Still, the wife must be obeyed! :loll:

Currently I am growing from seed,

    10 Cayenne chillis
    10 Habanero Chilis
1 Chili I cannot remember the name of - it was a gift.
    10 Tom Thumb Lettuce
20 sun blessed cherry toms (little yellow ones)
    1 Peanut plant
    Coriander
    Mint
    Asparagus
    5 butter nut squash
    1 pumpkin
    Tray of Rocket Salad
    Tray of Italian Mixed Salad
    5 dwarf corn.
Cress and Mustard (care of my daughter :) )

I have more than over stocked my tiny grow house! and if I am honest, I am panicking over where I am going to move things too when they need more space :) especially the corn - I didn't realise they stil grow to 12ft! Hmmm..

Outside the growhouse I'm also growing 2 patio bags of potatoes and I am also trying out a mushroom kit, although I don't expect it to last long - I'll probably moe onto a couple of mushroom logs once its passed its use.

So, thats me.... a bit of a maniac who packs way too much into tiny spaces! :)

Oh, and I am also working on a chili hanging basket for the conservatory - the wife doesn't know yet so dont tell her :)

This isn't my chili - but I've attached a picture of what I am growing for the basket....

Anyhow, thats me and my story.

    All the best,
    Tony

Welcome Tony, looks like you come from my old stomping ground. Essex! I was raised there.

Looks like, now you've got the gardening bug, the best thing you can do is move house, a place with a bigger plot. :heehee: All the best with what you're growing and keep us updated. :dbgrtmb:

Hello Tony, I'm afraid most of us gardeners try and pack too much in, I find it very difficult to discard seedlinds I've nutured and know I don't have any space for. Welcome to the club :)

    Welcome Tony, from another newbie.
I'd be intrigued to know what make the grow house is. I don't want a full blown greenhouse but I'd like somewhere to grow a few exotics and what you mention sounds ideal.
