Hi, pom pom from Penrhyndd and welcome to GC! I think water features are lovely and I'm still waiting for t'other half to do ours. We have the olive pot sitting ready for the water to come tumbling out of it down the rocks ... but alas, the pot sits high and dry! :( In the meantime we listen to his "burble barrell" .... a plastic olive pot on it's side in an oval dish! [IMG] Mustn't complaint!

Maybe you could try the water tumbling down rocks from an olive pot and let me know all about it! :D

    Enjoy the site!

Hi Pom Pom and welcome. It depends what you want from your water feature - sound, a reflective surface, a wild pond. What had you in mind?

Looks like a tropical paradise, BM, only wish I could do it here! Ye, gads, reading back "Mustn't complaint!" .. I really must get off the still water in the daytime!

I made a very small water feature to use up an awkward corner on our terrace.... it consists of a 40 cm wide by 50cm deep pot with a saucer shaped drip tray firmly placed in the top ...hole cut in middle for pump head to peep out ....mesh placed over hole to prevent excess bits getting into water - a few large stone and some gravel ....and a bit of ornamental dressing... consequently a very small pump is all that is necesaary .....the babbling brook sound is comforting and doesn't detract from peaceful al fresco eating......I just wanted to show pom pom that something simple can be effective....and say welcome pom pom at the same time !

Love your "tropical" feature BM ..... M-L

    Hi and welcome Pompom
I made one from a large terracota pot which I painted with yacht varnish inside and out - hubby cleverly drilled a hole near the top for the cable. Put a couple of plants in, a spitting fish [IMG] a few slates rounde the edge and hay presto!!! [IMG] Oh, I forgot to mention the little pump which was very cheap - about Ã?£20.
PS I love your waterfeatures BM and ML
