    Hello !

Looking for some advice to hopefully sort out my very soggy lawn. I have attached a picture of my garden that was taken in August. The soil is very fertile but water just gathers on it, it's so muddy now that we can't use the garden at all. I had spoken to the landlord in the hope that they could put in some sort of drain, but they said I should just dig sand into the soil.

I am happy to do whatever work is needed - should I dig sand in it or is a French drain of some sort the better option ? If so how do I go about doing it?

None of my neighbours lawns ever look as much of a mud bath as mine!

    Thanks in advance.

This is the garden at the moment, it is really mushy and unpleasant.

Maybe put a path down where your walking across it and stay off the rest of it till spring when it should have dried up a bit.
    Or
Put it a land drain using ferforated pipe.
My lawns a mess too with natural springs appearing and the moss is having a riot.Should be fine again by summer.

Mine is impassable. Even the flagstones leading to the bird feeding station are under water. The trouble is if we get a hot summer we shall have great big cracks across the grass areas, you cannot win. Have put loads of sand into mine just washes away!
