Whilst I despise the things, both my partner and daughter love them....

I've heard you can grow them here but need loads of room?

    What else? :(

Having grown canteloupe melons in the past in a greenhouse, with marginal sucsess Vince I tend to think that you will have problems if you intend growing watermelons out doors in the UK.

We dont get the summer heat required especially at night and the growing season is too short.

You ask what else they need other than lots of room, the answer is lots of heat. :D
