No-one seemed to know what these two plants are when I asked on the watergardening section, so Iâ??ll throw it in here.

This an almost 3 metre tall grass growing in our pond with about a foot of it under the water. Itâ??s an extremely tall, beautiful plant, constantly waving and shimmying in the breeze. The leaves turn beige in winter.

And would this be Bog Bean? (Menyanthes Trifoliata). I donâ??t know: I could be totally wrong. The leaves vanished in the winter and I havenâ??t seen it flower yet. It was put in in last autumn.

Excuse the blanket weed. I took the pic before I cleaned out the weed.

They are lovely to look at & yes could be Phragmites australis chrysantha or maybe Phragmites communis trinius.. If they are they can be invasive & will deplete the nutrients by quite allot so keep a look out for that as well Kindred .. :thumb:

The grass "appears" to be Reed Canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) but I'm still not sure.

Don't know if this is a phragmite or not. (Never did biology at school.)

Here's the wikipedia entry for it.
