    Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a water butt pump - to be honest I'm just too lazy  to keep on filling up watering cans from the butt taps.

There seem to be quite a few pumps on the market - ones that sit on the bottom of the butt and ones that are hooked over the side of the butt.

Not planning on spending too much - just a basic submersible pump that connects to a standard hose pipe connector.

    Any recommendations?

    Ta :blue thumb:

For any 1 interested - did a bit of googling and settled on a Silverline pump. Cheap at £28 from Amazon. Works a treat - saves loads of time - connects to a standard 'hozelock-a-like' connection.

Used the Amazon Prime locker service - very good it is too - ordered Sunday night and picked up from the locker early Monday afternoon:thumbsup:.

      very interested,

The reason I am interested is that I have been toying with the idea of running a line from my rain barrel up to some kind of bucket that will then gravity feed my low flow irrigation lines. That is if we ever get enough rain again to justify the configuration...

How many gallons per minute does it pump and how far are you pumping it?

I have used various Silverline products in the past and always found them very good quality. I know they will source from a hundred companies but their quality control must be doing something right.

          It's this one:

          Silverline 633872 Water Butt Pump, 400 W 2500 L/h

The instruction booklet says 12m max delivery height, also says not designed for long term continuous use.

I just stick the watering can in the top of the butt, never found a use for taps.
A pump would be good for moving water from one butt to another though.
