We've got the wind as well wildflower, not much rain but its blowing well.
The forecast looks promising for most places other than the far north west, once we get this lot out the way. [IMG]

An indian summer would be nice, but no, only for the next couple of weeks at the moment. :D
Got any ideas as to where the term "indian summer" comes from?

There are several theories as to where the name Indian Summer came from but I've always thought of it as when the native Indian Americans first harvested their crops.

We actually have them here as well ... they are known as "o Verao do Sao Martin" (o verow doh San Marteen) ... the Summer of St Martin. After a drop in temperatures in October, it suddenly rises for two weeks in November.

The wind has gone so thats a blessing..it still looks damp and cold ..I think it is forcast to improve this week briefly..just enough to clear the weeds and the dead plants away ..time to lock the garden furniture up and have a rest for a few months.. [IMG]

Well I thought that Indian Summer had arrived on Sept 1st. because it was a very nice warm day (26C max.) and the night lows have started to edge up again. Then yesterday brought quite strong winds and a fair amount of rain. However, it was still reasonably warm peaking at around 22C. Today is warm, wet and sticky, but the rain has gone and the wind is down to the occasional blustery breeze. Cloud is thinning very slightly so I'll probably have to resume watering later today ... again [IMG]
