    Hello its me again :)

Having set up my webcam and enjoyed a 20 minute video link with the inlaws in Spain my video link froze and flagged up connection poor. I use Skype and whilst the video was down the audio was still ok. My computer is a laptop and I use the wireless feature. My question is, would I get a much stronger signal if I connected my computer to the router when using the camera? The signal from this end is the issue as the video from Spain kept coming after mine froze.

    Thank you

    Hi Pip.
A wired Ethernet connection to your router will give you a significantly faster data rate than a wireless connection to the router. I doubt if the problem lies in signal strength unless you've a particularly low signal strength, it's most likely to be a problem associated with the speed of the data.

There's an easy way to find out - just use a cable between you computer and router and see if it cures the problem.
