So, it's less than twenty four hours to my sons wedding. He is marrying his American fiancee in Columbus, Ohio at 8pm our time tomorrow, it will be 3pm there.

Some of you are aware that I couldn't go to the wedding because of my fear of flying, so I will be celebrating here with my daughters and a few friends. I will be skyping my younger daughter as she emigrated to Canada back in May. She also can't make the wedding, as the Canadian authorities messed up her citizenship papers, so it's not legal for her to leave the country at the moment. Typical!

My dear husband flew out yesterday, on his own and will be the only member of our family there, also probably the only English person.

I'm sad :( that I can't be there and it's going to be an emotional evening here. The tissues will be at the ready!

Hope to post some pics after the event. Meanwhile here's a recent pic of my one and only son out there. He looks happy but I bet the nerves are setting in. :)

Oh, Sheal, my heart is with you. Neither my husband nor I will fly any more. He is American and is claustophobic ... not sure what my problem is but I have never been 'comfortable' flying even though when I was in business and I flew First Class. Could be because when I was in my teens I flew light aircraft and feel uncomfortable if I am not in control ... but I don't know!

Just hugs and kisses to you .... no, guess I should say abraços e beijinhos ... and hopefully we will see some lovely pictures. xx

oh, Sheal. sorry you could not fly there. My heart goes out to you. But at least his dad flew out. So, how did your son meet a girl from OHIO. The world is certainly smaller now a days.

I'm camera shy, the last picture I've got of me was taken five years ago. Perhaps I'll get round to an update and post it! :)

                        Hi Redstar,

They met on the internet seven years ago. I don't know about getting married, they should be suffering from the seven year itch now! :loll:They've had a long distance relationship since then, difficult and expensive. But love is supposed to know no bounds, as they say! :)
