Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if there is a weed and feed for lawns that is in liquid form, every one i have seen in the local shops is of a granule type whereby you need a little trolly thing to spread it.

I dont want to go to the expense of buying the distributor thing, i don't think my small bit of lawn justifies the expence.

    Thanks in advance, compo.

I spread it by hand - I take a handful and "throw" it with a sweep of my arm, and take a pace forward.

I've done it enough times to know how hard to throw, and what size pace to take! But if you get it uneven the lawn will look patchy of course.

You can get liquid herbicide for lawns, so killing the weeds is not a problem.

The fertiliser is a bit more tricky, liquid lawn feed is available, but I think its normally only used by the trade.

Pro will know when he comes along next.

    For a small lawn:

As a selective, you will be best off with verdone. A better possibly cheaper option is active:

As for liquid feeds, for greenup and mosskilling then use iron sulphate 1-2 cups per 10 litres of water, For a high nitrogen boost then add miracle grow or phostrogen using the packet dilution.

The products above will be effective and economic. The active weedkiller is better than verdone although not quite comparable to Bayer Spearhead (the stuff I use (trade)). 2 aplications will be needed for clover but it does work.

Thanks everyone your advice, i am most grateful and i have saved this page, in my favourites for future reference.

My big problem is Dandelions, i suppose any of the weeding solutions mentioned here will deal with those pests.

    Cheers, compo.

Yup, should do. Dandelions are "broad leaved" and the selective herbicides for lawns specifically target broad leaved plants / weeds.
