    Hi

I would like to know from gardeners and more so gardeners with allotments regarding weed control and what is the best fabric or fleece to buy to put over beds in my new allotment later in the year.

    Hi Golfer!

The best weed control is; digging.
By digging and turning over the soil you are able to pick out any deep rooted weeds you spot.
Little and often is my motto!

The weather is then able to get to the bare earth, and believe it or not, come next Spring the soil will be more easily broken down.

If you cover the soil with carpets etc, you do not get any benefit from weathering, and the deep rooted weeds are still there in the soil, waiting for you to lift the covers off, before springing into life once again.

    Cheers
