That sounds like Gramoxone, contains paraquat and can be lethal if you absorb any of it.

That only kills the tops off, not the roots, you'd be better off using a glyphosate based product like Roundup. That goes thru the plant and kills the lot off, takes a few weeks to work.

There is a commercial strength version, but you'd be unlikely to be able to get hold of it.

the stuff i used killed it and it stayed dead. i used it on a friend over grown garden. the garden then sat untouched for 3 weeks until he got time to do anything to it and there was no growth at all.

i was like dropping a nuke on the garden, how ever its not been turfed and all is fine

Not really sure what you are trying to achieve?
Glyphosate kills most weeds and roots, and allows you to replant afterwards.

If you just want to poison the place, full stop, then you can get the kind of stuff for clearing paths, which suppresses regrowth of seedlings afterwards.

that sounds like what i want.. i have a 3m x 5m section with 20/30mm pebbles for the car to be parked on. when i did it i doubled everything i was told to.

i was told to cover the ground with a weed control mat - i doubled layered it
i was told one bulk bag of pebbles would do the job no problem - again i doubled it and dropped 2 for a good 40 to 50mm spread of of pebbles.

it been 9 week and i have weeds popping threw it... i i want the kind of stuff that will kill everything and keep the land barren for 100's of years to come. i dont ceare if the ground glows yellow on a night as long as i have no weeds.

It seems to me as though the weeds you are seeing are only surface weeds that have grown because the seeds have come in on the air and lodged in the gravel. Even using heavy duty killers and barrier chemicals doesn't really stop that happening, but will stop almost anything else.

Dave instead of trying to poison everything, do as Pete and Shiney suggest and pull the weeds out, It is cheaper, easier and quicker.

It should only take about five or ten minutes every few weeks or so to pull out the surface weeds from that size area. :blue thumb: :noidea:
