I'm in need of your wealth of knowledge to see if anyone can id some plants for me. These have all come up in my main border and I can't remember if I planted them, or if they're rogues! The border has more or less been left to it's own devices the last couple of years as house renovations (still masses to do) has taken precedent. I'm trying (and winning!) to tame it all again, but can't work out what these are.

    Pics 1 2 & 3
The plant has come up in my Crocosmia Lucifer. Someone else has muted that it might be a Cherry Sapling?

Pic 4 has come up behind my black Sambuca

Pic 5 This sorry little thing is sitting all on his own.

I would say that 1,2&3 is a cherry seedling (probably planted by a bird cleaning its beak).

4 looks like a Hazel seedling (I would blame Mr Squirrel).

5 I would pull out from my flower border, one of the dandelion group - I'm sure someone will say what exactly...

    Now, over to the experts!

Thank you, Sian. I do hope those two are tree saplings, especially the Cherry tree. I shall carefully remove them from the border and pot them up, to see how they go. x

@Joolz, how many trees do you want? I have oak, Hazel wild cherry, beech, and willow, holly, yew - I could drop them off on the way through to the Marches next weekend?!!!:heehee:

@Sian in Belgium that's so very kind of you. Where are the Marches? I feel bad for not knowing that. If you are passing my way, I would love to take you up on the offer, there would be a pot of tea and cake awaiting you.

Thanks for the info @noisette47 . Think you may be thinking of another poster re the asparagus. I haven't grown any of that this year.

I am feeling very guilty as I haven't posted on here for ages. We've had so much going on at home and in the family, my attention has been somewhat diverted away from gardening for the last couple of years. I have read various threads on the group most days though, during that time. xxx

Lol @shiney One will definitely be destined for the bin, but the other two have me intrigued. No harm in seeing what happens when they're potted up. :blue thumb:

PS, Simian, my cat who was badly hurt last year is in fine form now. Though he is now a house cat, as I just don't trust him not to play chicken with other vehicles! Thank you and Mrs Shiney, for all you did to help him on his road to recovery, I am positive it helped to recover so quickly. xx

Oops...sorry! That'll teach me either to be more observant or to ease up on the aperos:biggrin:
Glad to hear that your puss has made such a good recovery!
