Hi everyone. Well I'm back on gardeners corner at last! After it was changed I couldn't figure out how to get back on and i did miss you all. I love changing the design of our garden so have always looked forward to seeing the photo's of everyones garden in the photo gallery so i can get some ideas.

I visited my childhood roots with my brother last week and we came across a house we always used to pass when we were young. It was built in the 18th century and the owner had just planted out lots of polyanthus in the front garden and my brother said this looks like a part of old england it was lovely, the owner chatted to us then showed us round the back of the garden too, and i looked on thinking i would love to acheive the same kind of thing in our garden. I had already got some pots of polyanthus near our front porch, but would like to have lots more flowers as it not only gives me a lift it is nice for other passers by to lift their spirits up too.

My husband and I went to derbyshire in our caravan for the weekend last week and we saw lots of pansies around the base of a tree, it looked so pretty and inspired me to do the same as we have a tree in the front garden, so we too brought lots of pansies, i was so suprised though that i still didn't have enough so have had to buy some more today.

Hi Weekend Gardener and Welcome back:)

Isn't it nice to go away in the van esecially up to Derbyshire one of our favourite places in Britain. We often stay up there at Christmas time:thumb:

How lovely of the owner of that old house to show you around. We often get chatting to people we meet while on holiday especailly about gardens and it is nice when they show you around. It makes living in this country most pleasurable:)

Polyanthus, Primroses, and Cowslips planted on mass as well as pansies and violas will give a great display of colour in the spring months and will go on for weeks if conditions are favourable:)

When we walk round our village this time of the year in the evenings it is lovely to see the front gardens with all the flowers and each one have put their stamp on the plot and made them worth looking at.

Good luck with your plantings and hope you have many happy enjoyable years of colour:thmb:
