Heavy frost with a temperature of -5.6 degrees first thing this morning, not deterred as I love this kind of weather, I went off to work at one the gardens I do once a week. Nothing much to do other than raking leaves up, a lot of leaves mind as they have a HUGE mature oak, beech and birch trees in the garden. Just the right work in this lovely weather, just enough to keep you warm whilst enjoying the abundant birdlife, robins, blue tits, great tits, long tailed tits, goldcrests, coal tits, blackbirds, fieldfares all visiting the garden whilst I was there.

Back to the leaves, well they were all bagged up and stored in the owners wood shed as he is going to kindly deliver them to my house over Christmas and then I can use them for leaf mould (when they've rotted down) - Happy Days :hapfeet: .....about 30 large bags of leaves coming my way :heehee:

When I got home I was presented with a small gift from my wife :wub2: , a Pinus 'Silvercrest' tree - I saw it in our local florist/grocer shop the other day and dropped a few hints that I rather liked it ;)

And to finish the day off I've just been stood outside enjoying a stunning sunset with a 'cuppa' in hand :coffee::dbgrtmb:.......not for too long mind as its already -2 degrees at just after 4pm :rolleyespink:

What a lovely cheery post, Bilbo!! :dbgrtmb: Puts me to shame because I've been moaning about the cold all day  (In my defense, I've been chilled through since yesterday).

Thank you for reminding me to look for the good :)

Lovely post which cheered the cockles, so well needed as Baltic here.Glad you could rake up the leaves ours are stuck solid to the ground. Can't compete with your array of feathered visitors but did have at least 5 Bull Finches visit today, the largest number I've seen together. They were having a feast on some Dock seed heads so delighted about that, they hopefully will scoff the lot!
