Luckily this dog has lost a lot of weight. It is such a shame that people let their animals get so big.
I had a neighbour who had a dog that was wider than it was long, she kept a drawer in the kitchen for her treats, left open so she could help herself, she was bought a tin of roses at Christmas, she unwrapped them herself. Numerous things I could bring to mind, when she was taken to the vets for treatment, reasonably regularly, and the vet mentioned weight ,which he always did, she would come home in a terrible state, " How dare he suggest she is too fat"
