    Its decided to grow in my parents pots.

    I think it's liverwort.
    Tends to grow in undisturbed soil in shady places mostly damp as well.

      I agree, it's liverwort ... It spreads by spores formed in those starry things. If you look under them you'll probably see flat stems like lobes sprawling on the ground.
