What Apple Tree do I have? {Pics}

    Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum but love growing my own food!

    I was wondering what type of apple tree do I have? I don't know because my parents didn't buy it, it was already here when we got the house.

    I ALSO HAVE 2 additional questions.

    1.) Why were the seeds white in that apple? They weren't unripe or sour, tasted good! But why white seeds?

    2.) As you can see in Pic 3 that apple has spots, are apples with these spots ok to eat?

    Well for apple cultivar I'm inclined to think along the lines of Crispin (desert) or Grenadier (cooker) although it could be one of hundreds...

    as for the spots it could be brown weevil, nothing to worry about though it just makes the fruit look less aesthetically pleasing it can be controlled by spraying

    I've stood in the queue for hours at Wisley on one of their Apple Days waiting to have my apples identified and can confirm that it's often very difficult to make a certain identification. To a certain extent, it doesn't matter what the tree is if it's producing apples that you like. You can experiment with eating or cooking them and see what happens. The British differentiate between eaters and cookers but the French don't bother - they cook anything!

    The seeds just look unripe to me. Another reason why it's difficult to identify the apple - the fruit you're holding is not fully ripe, I suspect.

    Don't worry about those spots unless they get so prolific that the fruit are malformed or undersized.

    Thanks to both of you.

    Yeah I suppose it's just an average green variety apple tree. They do get pretty big though!

    I only eat them raw or juice them, healthiest option of course.

    Yeah I suspected they weren't ripe, but they tasted fine to me.
