Hi everyone, I did another one of my scatter random packs of seeds and see what comes up experiments this year to try and achieve the cottage garden look I love; it worked out really well but some of the flowers have only just shown themselves, these pink ones with variations of colour in each flower, does anyone know what they're called so I can plant more next year?

Also my clematis which stopped flowering ages ago had a few new buds which opened recently (the most prominent pink flower in the last picture) what should I do with the clematis when it stops flowering, should I cut it down to the ground?

The pink flowers are Godetias. Don't be in any hurry to pull them up after flowering if you don't need to, as they will happily seed themselves and may come back again from seed next year.
Not sure about the clematis, I'm sure someone else will be along soon to advise you on that one though. :dbgrtmb:

I may be wrong Freedom_Spark but your clematis looks very like one I've just bought 'Dr Ruppel' the flowering time fits too, it flowers may to june then again september, google it and see what you think, if it is its in the group 2 pruning group which means it should be pruned lightly in late winter early spring just to remove weak and crossing stems.

Thanks for the replies everyone - Simbad I'm not sure if the clematis is strictly supposed to be flowering again, a few buds just appeared for some reason, I think it may have the word 'bishop' in the name or I may have imagined that :heehee: Thanks again.

Fantastic flowers; I was thinking Dr Ruppel too for the Clematis (Nelley Moser is similar but its not that one), a member of the large flowered hybrids, most do flower again in September after their May/June flowering spell :thumb:
