Its January and I have been twice to the plots. Rhubarb is shooting, strawberries have fresh growth and the daffs are 1inch high.

Its an exciting time especially when the sun shines.

Today I tidied the strawberry bed and put video on you tube.

Went with my dad yesterday over to his plot. There was a few turnips in the ground left over from last year so we dug them up. I was pretty suprised that the coriander was still alive, i think its half-hardy unless i'm wrong, but i was still suprised to see it alive(for now) so did a little weeding around them. We had some sprouts growing but they got demolished by pigeons.

I think sometime next week will go back and do some digging and general tidying up and get the place ready for feb/march sowings. not really sure what we're going to do yet though, it's my dads plot i just go help.

Also I think next time we're going to get some strawberry plants from plot next door as it's my dads mate and he said we could have some. wanted to try grow those in hanging baskets lol

I need to go up and see what wants doing on mine. Haven't been there in a couple of months since we put the shed up. Just been far to wet. Maybe I'll twist Hubbys arm later and take a bench up and have a look round.

It was probably the server, I made a mistake and sent the link to my storage rather than my YouTube channel. Www. YouTube.Com/user/juliedrake23 which is all about my allotments, polytunnels and garden.

Nice plot you have there, Julie! OMG you must like strawberries!! What do you do with all of them?? I have a big patch on mine but will be thinning it out a lot. I also have some raspberries. It's my first year this coming summer on it so it's really in the planning stages and will be a bit of trial and error no doubt. At least I have GC to fall back on for any problems that may arise!!!

Last year was the first year for strawberries, only got 50lb and my mother ate them all. I tried some and enjoyed them, this year hoping for 200lb+ and will sell some. If the weather is good I could end with loads. Have got a few hundred at home, mostly from seed but some are runners.

I'm waiting for it to dry out a bit before I start digging again, onion beds done but I've loads of spuds to prepare for, drainage ditches to dig, bean, carrot and brassica beds to prepare, the list is endless, think I need a lie down just thinking about it! :cry3:

I have tons to do...due to Annes illness last year that last time I visited to do any work was July...so I have 2 plots to get ready.

I still have potatoes in the ground and dead tomato plants hanging from strings in the Polytunnels...I have my work cut out for me...thats for sure.

            Steve...:)

You have a wonderful plot! :blue thumb:

What is the black stuff on the ground? Is it a heavy duty weed suppressant?

            Wow, Julie!
            I'm so jealous and impressed!
You've got a better grip on video camera's than me and I have to say it's lovely to put a voice to you! I think I shall have to do the same over Summer when it's so bright you cannot see my ugly features!
Thanks again for being such a sport and posting a video!

Thanks fat boy for the comments but my my video shooting is nothing great and all taken with mobile phones. Would like to produce some better ones but presenting is always going to be poor. Dont have the southern accent or the vocabulary to be any good. Going to try though. Should be fun with the new poly I just bought. I did start a blog on blogger the other year called c k plant nursery but then got side tracked. It does show my flowers.
