Thought I would start this off as I'm planning for 2015. With a chunk of Christmas put aside for browsing catalogues.
At the moment I am hoping to grow Corydalis densiflora, C vittae, Tulipa puchella caerula, Hyacinthella lazulina and Hyacinthoides reverchonii. All spring flowering bulbs. Also I'm hoping to be able to plant out Enkianthus campanulatus and some seed grown Sarcocca, Narcissus bulbocodium, Galanthus and Crocus.

Oooh, same here with the butternuts. A friend gave me seeds several years ago, now I wouldn't be without them. They grow prolifically, keep very well and are sooooo yummy. As for something new.....I'm going to try onions. I've not grown onions before.

I've been keeping notes on what new plants to try for 2015, so far I've got:
          Centradenia Cascade
Tomato Rosella (as recommended by one of our members)
Imperata cylindrica 'Rubra' - 'Red Baron' - (Blood red deciduous grass)

I'll keep a watch out on this thread in case anything else tickles my fancy :blue thumb:

Giant Dahlias specifically for showing at a couple of local shows. I have only ever grown Dahlias from seed in the past so starting from tubers will be a first for me. The tubers I have ordered are due to arrive any time now. I am more excited than my grand kids waiting for Santa.

We never plan to have more, or different, plants but always seem to end up with some. We don't buy them but people, very generously, give us some of theirs. Sometimes they give us the plants so that we can propagate them and sell them for charity.

Tomorrow, if the weather is OK, we're going to have another dozen trees taken out. That will finish the row that was started in June. Mrs Shiney planted up the bed that was left by using plants we had lying around. Now that we are going to have another 30ft or so of bed she is thinking about moving the first lot and redesigning. Not sure what she has in mind.

The undergrowth beneath the trees is solid with Vinca Major variegata. She's never thought of propagating them before (because they've always been there - and she uses them in flower arranging) but has just dug some out and hopes to sell the plants at our Open Day. I thought it was a simple common plant/weed but is selling for quite a lot of money on the internet!

I haven't got a clue at the moment! By this time I've usually got seeds on order but will hit the catalogues early in the new year. There's also the question of do I, don't I, as I hope to make a house move at some point although the house hunt is slow going with the market almost at a standstill.

Too many things to mention, one thing being gardeners delight tomatoes and nicotiana from seed.

@Jungle Jane I don't think they would be of use to you . They're a Leyllandii type border and the wood is already earmarked to be sold for log burners. This is part of the last batch.

If that sort of thing is of use to you I could keep back a few logs for you but Mrs Shiney wants them out of the fairly quickly. So they would have to be picked up by mid January.

@shiney can't do much with leyllandii I'm afraid. Thanks for the offer though.
