My book at the moment is 'Conversations with God' by Neal Donald Walsh - although I'm not a christian, or religious as such... a very interesting read!

I am reading your mind and I am shocked.

No but seriously I am reading Hardy Bamboos: 'Taming the Dragon' by Paul Whittaker, again! Fantastic book and on sale at Amazon.co.uk at the moment.

I'm working my way through Mr Nice, an autobiography of Howard Marks, at one time Britain's most wanted man.

I have just finished Richard Mabey's "Nature Cure". Wonderful book! [IMG] He is a well known nature writer, but suffered a shattering nervous breakdown after compiling "Flora Britannica". He lost all interest in nature and after really hitting the bottom, he had himself admitted to a psychiatric hospital. He moved away from his home in the Chilterns to East Anglia and rediscovered the wild life there. That, and a love affair, was his road out of depression back to sanity. Very moving and honest. Now reading his "Flowering of Britain" :D

I've got 'Techniques and Tips for Gardeners', BBC gardeners' question time, from the library. I'm impressed by it, really useful and sensible.

    :D :D

I am reading a library book on Biodynamic Gardening (well, you did ask!) ;)

Find it interesting in the parallels/differences with organic gardening.

There was reference to this website:

    http://www.biodynamic.org.uk/EU.htm

Two things that have upset me a bit here:

    1) I didn't realise that the European Commission were drafting up changes of legislation EU Reg. 2092 to allow almost 1 per cent of GM contamination in CERTIFIED ORGANIC PRODUCTS!

    2) The whole depressing business of CMS hybrides.

Suppose it's always the big money boy's who win, and nature that looses!

Perhaps I should have just read some fiction instead? ;)

I just finished Johnathan strange and mr norrel - takes some getting into, but superbly written and nearly sent me into XXXX

then went on to Christopher Lloysd "well tempered Gardiner" and that was too much of a change AND NO PICTURES! well it annoyed me for first 10 pages or so, but then descovered his descriptions of plants were far more intricate than any photo could be.

:( WTF???? Will their horrendous financial obsession ever end? Do the powers that be never ever listen or take notice of the thinking man/woman, or will we be forever forced to bend to their ideals of what's 'good' for us? God they make me so mad! :(
What goes around comes around, so lets hope one of these idiots GMs a triffid!! :D

doesn't anyone else use reading as switching off and relaxing time?? like a good detective story? In other words, who cares about the literary style, or content - just send me to sleep?? I like to read rubbish, and Terry Pratchett! :D
