I've recently finished The Long Utopia and The Shepherd's Crown. Just started Stuff Matters a material science book and then onto the John Le Carre biography.

Fool's Assassin by Robin Hobb. One of those epic fantasy type novels, not everybody's cup of tea I know, but Robin Hobb does tell a good yarn.

In that time I've read about 3,000 :) but haven't written any more.

One down, three more to go - but I've another four waiting on the side. :blue thumb:

I love all kinds, especially sci fi and fantasy. Just finished the latest David Mitchell, which I treated myself to for Christmas, I love a book to pass on to friends. Have a few kindle daily deals stored up for the next few days of hibernation, bliss!!!!

Thanks Shiney, it's a surname that is used here so the Irish/Scottish connection is probably where it comes from.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Taken me a good few pages to get into her writing style but we'll see how it goes.

Yes, I know it was a TV series last year but I'm not a huge lover of books translated into TV.

I've just started reading Do we need pandas? by botanist Dr. Ken Thompson.

It's all about biodiversity; what it means, how it works and how mankind is affecting it. Heavy going in parts, but the chapters on plant diversity and its relationship with various environments are quite interesting to a lifelong gardener like myself.
