So what tasks have you given yourself this weekend?

    Mine are:

Weed patio at the back of the house

Pot on some mini sunflower seedlings.
    Pot on a rose.
Find some pots for three bush tomato plants
Plant 3 strawberry plants in my strawberry planter

And of course.... mow the lawn!

    My tasks
Plant out some recent purchases. However I'm a bit reluctant, as when the pots are gone, I'll probably end up buying more!
Put out runner beans. That means a bit of fiddling with canes and string...
Get some of my orchids, proteas and citrus out of the greenhouse to leave room for tomatoes

I need to buy seeds and compost to get some veg containers going.

I might also build a small patio in the front garden.

I never plan to do anything, whenever I do it all goes wrong, so I just go with the flow and do whatever I feel like at the time.
There are several things that need doing, so maybe I'll do them, or some of them, and maybe I won't

I’ll be planting out my sweet peas against a cane and net support, putting up my poly greenhouse and possibly doing another coat of paint on the shed.

My garden in France is too squelchy to do much after the heavy rain. We are going out to friends for lunch on Saturday, then, if it's not too late, I'll go and watch my grandson playing rugby.
On Sunday we are going to a picnic party near Bergerac. I hope it doesn't rain but there is always the village hall.

We're meeting friends for a pub lunch tomorrow so looking forward to that, then depending on the weather, more pottering in the garden, probably cleaning the paving priority if it's dry, sowing more veg seeds, etc, etc.

As tomorrow is forecast to be raining we started our weekend work today as we have guests on Sunday.

I mowed four lawns, we filled two big wheelie bins with weeds, I moved fourteen tubs of daffs and tulips to the nursery area and filled nine more with compost to replace them and Mrs Shiney planted them all with Cosmos (three to a tub). She has also started to fill nine hanging baskets with bedding plants. The four best will be hung up and the others will wait in the nursery area for more flowering before I sell them.

Tomorrow, inbetween rain (if it arrives) I'll hang up the pigeon deterrents (CDs) over the bean canes and plant out the first batch of beans. Canes etc. were put up two months ago. If/when it rains I'll get another 6 x 70 litre bags of MPC. If the rain holds off I'll do some more mowing.

Mrs Shiney also has three people coming round for their Cosmos orders (a dozen each) and two ladies coming for foliage for a flower arranging competition they are entering.

Today got extremely hot so I had to force myself to have two choc ice breaks. :noidea:

Fête des Voisins tomorrow and should be fine so I've already been busy making dishes to take and share. I should have a delivery of heleniums during the day so potting those up will happen at the end of the day.

Long weekend here with Pentecost/Whit Monday but expected to be very wet so catching up with patchwork homework for me. OH has golf on Sunday but can strim on Monday between 10am and noon. No doubt he'll find some sprot to watch on TV...

Doing the edging around paving slabs set into a lawn as stepping stones, running most of the length of a 150 foot garden. Some idiot has allowed the grass to grow and cover about half of the surface area of each slab. Just finding the edge of each slab is going to be fun. Incidentally that idiot was me, although in my defence I couldn't do much last year as I had a hip replacement op.

Going to my parents' this afternoon. OH is going to replace a light switch for them and I will do a bit more gardening - I think Mum wants a hand planting up hanging baskets, but we'll see. When we get back there's a pile of Fatsia branches that I pruned yesterday to go through the shredder for composting. I cut the grass yesterday and pulled some dying forget-me-nots but there are plenty more of those to go at.

I am continuing to "deep clean" the conservatory. In short spells. I have gradually worked my way around the sides and roof. I have broken the back of it but still more to do. The one section I dislike is having to get up on a step ladder to tackle the two roof windows which are on winder mechanisms. Really awkward to get to.
The kick *UP MY B*T*M to get it done is my son's visit to the UK from Canada at the end of this week. Nothing like visitors coming to galvanise me into action!
