    Aren't they striking birds? We saw hundreds (and I'm NOT exaggerating!) on the beaches on the outer hebrides - what a sight!! And curlews too, and a few other waders... I was reminded of that this week, while driving along the M9, I saw a field full of curlews! Quite unmistakeable....
