I'm starting to panic now because I still haven't bought wife anything.

I have no idea what to get her.

She isn't particular interested in much (not in a boring way). I want to get her something that is for her alone. If it is something she can share, she will, which is nice of her but sometimes people just needed something that's for them.

    Ideas please?

It's difficult with not knowing what sort of thing she likes. Does she like reading? I got a Kindle for my birthday and I love it. Does she like perfume? Or has she been dropping any hints about what she needs or would like? Handbags are always a good option though.

I know what you mean. She seems to be so absorbed in being a mum that she doesn't seem interested in much else at the moment. I want to remind her she is still who she was before the kids came along.

I can see me ending up buying her some chocs. She doesn't really do ambags or fashion.

All I got from my wife when I asked what she wanted for Christmas she said I don't know, so I guessed.
It was always easier when I was away for Christmas with the Paras, as I could get something from were I was posted

Blimey Clueless you have left it late!

Whatever you do don't buy her chocolate, she'll think it's an easy get out!

If you want to remind her she's more than just a mum, it's got to be something personal like perfume, assuming she wears it. Have a sneaky look at what she has already and write down the name/s, take the list to a chemist and ask if they could show you items that are similar. You could also have a sniff at what Mrs. C already has, then work out whether it's a flowery, heavy spicey etc, type of perfume and make the choice yourself. Don't buy what she already has! :)

Maybe think about the things she used to like before she was a Mum and go from there. If she has her ears pierced what about some earrings? You could always ask her outright what she'd like and see what she says. Failing that go for the chocs or give her the money in a nice card and then she can go shopping while you look after the boys. :) ;)

That depends on how much she likes chocolate.....I'd never see it as an easy get out as i love the stuff and if Clue buys a very nice box of chocs then even better!! :snork:

Yes Fern, but Clueless says she is inclined to share everything, so she would lose out on this as a present for herself.:)

I know you say she isn't interested in much and I get that but that doesn't mean she won't like getting things that she wouldn't buy for herself. I love luxury bath stuff but would never dream of paying £3-5 for a single bath bomb or a fortune for bath oil etc so my family know that I appreciate getting things like that for birthdays and Christmas. Like your wife I'm a bit of a nightmare to buy for - there's not usually one special thing I particularly want and my poor OH is usually in your position. He kind of understands that I dont actually mind what I get, it's just nice that someone wants to buy me something, but it doesn't help him in choosing a gift lol

Can you maybe make up a little hamper of a mixture of luxury things she'd like but just wouldn't think of buying for herself - I don't know her tastes, but you do - so maybe perfume, chocolates, funky earrings, a book by a favourite author, a pretty photo frame, voucher for a spa day/hairdressers etc. all individually wrapped and put in a nice hamper or pretty box with lots of tissue paper so she has to search to get them

I'm guessing she would be honestly pleased that you made the effort to get her something, rather than what the something was - so maybe use a bit of imagination and get a few things together and as long as they're bought with her in mind I'm sure she'll love them.

Clueless, does Mrs C like being pampered? Things like massages, having her nails done, new hair style etc. You could book one or all of these and give her the appointment details on Christmas day.
