Any ideas, as my Peppers and chillies are getting near finished, potatoes? French beans? I know it is out of season, but there is heat, light and nutrients available for the plants, so why not?
Thanks Howard - like to bend the rules a little!

Light will be your problem. You could grow [Autumn-sown] Potatoes and Dwarf French Beans (without heat) but they would have needed to have been sown at the start of August.

We grow Chard over winter. It doesn't do much during the winter (I grow in unheated greenhouse, but I doubt that there is enough light, even with heat, for it to make growth), but come Spring it romps away and we crop it during eh Hungry Gap before other crops, such as Tomatoes, need to be planted in their place in May. You'd need to buy seedlings at garden centre as seed for those too would need to have been started in early August (seedlings available in garden centre will be 4 weeks old, or so).

Spring Cabbage, Kale, and so on will all do better in cold greenhouse than outside, and again planting plug plants now would be OK. They won't like much extra heat though.
