what can i plant in my shady border?

    I have a raised border in an "L" shape that is in the shade.I have installed a water feature and i am going to cover the ground with a plum coloured slate.,the soil seems to be very good.What plants can i grow?please can someone help?Regards Matt

    Loads!

    Ferns, hostas (watch out for slugs), astilbe, aduja, foxgloves, ligularia, dicentra, ajuga, some primula, day lilies, irises, bluebells, sedge grasses and for the wow factor, angelica.

    There are more - that's all I can think of at the moment.

    Just a thought but don't Irises like full sun? Or is that only bearded ones?
