What did you hate about your teachers and school?

Just that really

 

I loved school and wanted to be a teacher however the tuition was beyond my means.

Over here the teachers are on rotating strikes because they don't want 24 kids in their class - it's too much for them. They want a 2% wage increase each and every year instead of the 1% offered. They make twice ($92K and up) as much as most other Canadians ($50K), they have generous pensions and benefits and can retire at 50. They get 3 months off each year - 2 in summer and 1 more at Christmas (2 weeks) and Spring (2 weeks) and lots and lots of Fridays off for long weekends. They do not want any classes being taught online either. Our children's math scores are dismal and getting worse because the teachers do not seem capable of doing their jobs. There is a saying over here, "those that can't do, teach". And now it turns out that's not true either!

I'm sure you teachers over there are much more clever than ours. But please keep in mind that even though you offered to keep us in check, we are playful, not children. We are light hearted gardeners

Being a gardening forum, I am a little surprised at the topics you are introducing. There are many off topic conversations you can join that are interesting and diverse and perhaps that might be the place for these types of questions in the future or are you doing "unofficial polling" ?

What did I hate about school? That some of the teachers, especially the headmaster were tyrants that allowed things to happen that shouldnt, and enjoyed dishing out corporal punishment whether needed or not.
