I dips them in a bit of salt.

Other people cut a cross in them & put them in a bowl of iced water to make them open up. No idea why:what:

Just be aware that if you have a radish glut, and eat too many, that can cause severe indigestion.

If you twist the tops off and place in water in the fridge they keep fresh for ages, but don't cut off the tap root.

I love radishes, and could eat them like sweets. Unfortunately wife and son are less fond, so we hardly ever get them.

If you cook them in a stir fry, a lot of the more intense flavour is lost, giving way way to its more subtle, sweeter flavour.

There is a chef I watch who cooks them for a few mins then ice cold them quickly says it changes the flavor some. Never tried it ---but there you have it.

Presentation (Garnish), you can make all kinds of things doing this Zigs, roses and Chrysanthemums are probably the most popular.

When I was taught by my head chef how to do this he also taught me that people "Eat with their eyes", meaning if it looks good it almost certainly will taste good too.

            Steve...:)

since the flavour is quite pungent they are best sliced andmixed for example in a fresh salad. Also there is a recipy called "carpaccio" where it would fit quite well. It is very thin sliced raw beef seseasoned with parmesan shavings, lemon oil salt and pepper.
