what does Gone to Seed mean?

    It means that a veggie has started to flower and then produce seed which in the case of most veggies makes them inedible. Or if you are a bit over the hill.... past it...... you could also have gone to seed. ;)

    like if you buy cut broccoli from Tesco and don't use it for a few days - try it when the seeds, yellowy bit, have appeared - gritty, and not nice to eat!! ;)

    leave a lettuce or a radish in the ground for a while and watch what happens - that's going to seed!!!

    I'll try it out with a lettuce and see what happens....quite looking forward to seeing it
