What duck is this?

      I'm no duck expert but i'd have a stab at mandarin :)

        Mandarin duck - the only one I can identify.
        well that and the Falkland Island Flightless Steamer Duck . Only two I can remember from a trip to Martin Mere a few years ago .

            Nice male Mandarin, the drab female is also to the left, they breed here but only in very small numbers around the UK, they and the also exotic looking Carolina wood Duck are commonly seen in wildfowl collections.

                If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and has a funky hairdo, it's a mandarin drake.
