Not sure if its ripe , so it might confuse some people.

Anyway, if someone does identify it, could they tell me how to grow it ?

Its on someone elses house by the way, and I dont think they purposely planted it which suggests that this plant/fruit is easy to grow ??

edit : it feels quite hard aswell, so i doubt its ripe. Also, please double click on the pictures to enlarge , then enlarge them again

so what exactly is it ?? what does barberry bird sown mean ?

if i typed it into ebay to get seeds for it ? what would i type ?

Or i could use the ones in the fruit itself, if its ripe enough

Im still not convinced its barberry, my best guess would be some kind of currant.

    okay , questions :

why shouldnt I eat it ?

why is someone growing it ?

what use is it for ?

and, I will now have to look for a new fruit that is easy to grow.

after some googling, it can cause insanity and extreme intoxication, maybe the neighbour is trying to secretly kill people.

    Medicinal Uses

Plants For A Future can not take any responsibility for any adverse effects from the use of plants. Always seek advice from a professional before using a plant medicinally.
The fruits cause intoxication when consumed[192]. The person becomes confused, often suffers delirium and, if the fruit is taken in excess, a permanent mental condition that mimics insanity can be caused[192].

I think they are lovely planted in a group. Gorgeous berries. You can also get them in white. You need to plant them in groups because of pollination. If you succeed in growing this I shall scream.........I promise:wink:

The reason you don't want to eat it as that it's more than likely poisonous...

Good grief, don't eat anything growing wild unless you really really know what it is!
